Yesterday our Boys Golf Team competed in the Lake County Cup at Harbor Hills. Annually since 1998, this tournament pits all 11 schools in our county against each other to see who is comes out on top. Before yesterday, EHS had never been able to emerge victorious. This group of boys finally checked this one off the list, and it wasn't even close. Our team fired a 307 to win in a landslide over the following schools:
Mount Dora, Mount Dora Christian, Montverde Academy, Leesburg, First Academy of Leesburg, Tavares, Umatilla, East Ridge, South Lake, and Lake Minneola
Captain Cooper Adams (Senior) had a 73 (2nd Place Overall Individual), followed by a 75 from Taylor Hayes (Sophomore), 78 from Ryan Jeffers (Sophomore), 81 from Luke Van Dyke (Senior), and 82 from Tyler Adams (Sophomore).

The Boys Bowling Team currently stands with a record of 6-3. Our district is a very competitive one, and everyone at EHS should be proud of the effort of this team. Led by Senior Hayden McLachlan's 201 season average, the team is a small but mighty one. Other team members include Paxton VanAlstyne, Lincoln Woodward, Evan Tetrault, Devan McLachlan, and Everett Fretwell. With a little over a month to go in our season, the boys are continuing to work hard to prepare for districts and hopefully another trip to the state tournament at the end of October.

Yesterday the Boys Golf team hosted The Villages and First Acadrmy of Leesburg. Senior Cooper Adams led the team to victory over both schools with a 38. Next week the golf team travels to the coast to play New Smyrna Beach on Tuesday. Go Panthers!

Last night the Boys and Girls Cross Country team travelled to Auburndale. The Girls team were Runners Up for the meet! They were led by Senior Annabelle Shook who placed 2nd, Sophomore Arianna Varela 10th place, Sophomore Savannah Shook 11th place, Senior Callie Berkhousen 20th place. Also contributing to the victory was Senior Carmen Ellison, Freshman Skyler Thurmond, Junior Julianna Heise, Sophomore Jaylin Rios, Sophomore Ava Motl, Sophomore Kyra Decosta, and Junior Samantha Myers.
The Boy's Team took 6th place overall. They were led by Jamar Rivers 25th place, Jonathan Garza, Samuel Hubbs, Mason Moore, Taylor Williamson, and Kacey Bryant.
We even had a college recruiting our 3 Seniors from the Girls Team! We are so proud of both teams! They gave it their all and it definitely showed. Both teams will be back in action on Saturday at East Ridge High School.

Underclassmen Picture Day is September 27th. Don't forget!!

The Boys Golf team played in The Buffalo Invitational on Saturday and had a great showing in the field of 10 teams. Faced with an 10 stroke deficit after 9 holes (halftime), the Panthers rallied on the back nine to tie The Villages after 18 holes (end of regulation). After tying again on the first playoff hole (first overtime), the Panthers finally succumbed to the Buffalo on the second playoff hole (double overtime). The Runner-Up finish was still the best showing from Eustis in this tournament’s history, and is a sign of more good things to come this season! Also, Taylor Hayes was awarded the Silver Medal, placing 2nd Overall as an individual with a 1 under par 71. Go Panthers!

After a rainy first meet against Leesburg, your panther swimmers were back in action against Mount Dora yesterday. The boys team won with a close score of 87 to 79 with individual first place finishes from Bennett Aldrich, Nick Aldrich, Aven Carter, and Nate Gruner. Also placing first in the relays were Paul Ratanawetchasi, Noah Anderson, and John Mardis. The girls also had an impressive start against Mount Dora earning 55 points with only 8 swimmers! First place individual finishes include Joie Kendrick, Sara Rocchigiani, and Sophia Rimes. The girls’ relays were also on track to make regional times with first place finishes with great swims from Ellie Betancourt along with our other first place finishers. We also had many first timers compete and they all exceeded our expectations.

Yesterday in Boys Golf the Panthers “swarmed” the Yellow Jackets as they travelled to Harbor Hills and dominated Leesburg & First Academy of Leesburg from start to finish. Every Eustis player had an excellent day, but the team was led by newcomer Ryan Jeffers (Sophomore, 39) and Luke Van Dyke (Senior, 36). Next up is the Buffalo Invitational this Saturday in The Villages.
Last Week, the EHS Boys Golf Team flourished as they travelled to South Lake and defeated the Eagles on the road! Then they proceeded to win the Golden Triangle Classic over both Tavares & Mount Dora in a landslide victory. Sophomore Taylor Hayes dominated all week with rounds of 34, 36, and 37! Go Panthers!!!
